Description
This moth has a reddish-pink abdomen and reddish-brown thorax. The forewings are
dark rosy red with one or two black marks. The underwings are pink with a thick
black, sub terminal line.
Flight Period
Two generations, April to June & July to early September.
Larval Food plants
Plantains, Ragwort, Spindle, Broom and other shrubby plants.
Habitat
Gardens, disturbed ground, hedgerows, and other open habitats including downland.
Wiltshire Status
Common.
