Forewing Length: 13-14mm
Description
A pale moth with straw base colour and dark cross band. Variegated tawny and olive browns give a mottled appearance. The fringes of the wings are chequered. Often seen at rest on Knapweed.

Single-brooded, end of July to August
Larval Food plants
Grasses, including Cock’s Foot, Common Couch, False Oat-grass.
Habitat
Chalk grassland, other grass habitats including waste ground.
Wiltshire Status
Widespread and sometimes common.
